Cockatoo Kids creates music-based kids content that inspires creativity, curiosity and connection through storytelling, animals and the natural world.

We are currently developing a live-action narrative children’s series with animated elements, alongside director/producer Karin Fitzhardinge and Northern Pictures, in collaboration with Australian Geographic.

Where we started:

Cockatoo Kids began with Wild Life, our debut album of ten original songs celebrating animals from around the world. Released in 2019, the album was written by songwriter Jane Walker and Sydney schoolgirl Coco Espie, inspired by Coco's love of music and animals. The album launched at Taronga Zoo, where it was also stocked in the official store and featured in several live performances. Jane subsequently ran songwriting workshops through Taronga Zoo's Youth at the Zoo (YATZ) program.

Since then, Cockatoo Kids has grown to include music videos, live performances and songwriting workshops. Our content has been featured on ABC Kids Listen, Kinderling, Kids.Radio (USA) and in media including ABC Radio Sydney, K-Zone and Link Magazine.

Through album and merchandise sales, Cockatoo Kids proudly supports Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation, Taronga Conservation Society Australia and Ocean Recovery Alliance.
